Abstract
One obvious consequence of having women thrive in the field of religious studies in large numbers is that many women will age there. Hence, some of the new challenges to consider are retirement and emerita status. There are also simply the inevitable realities of growing older, with a diminishment of energy that, happily, is paired with an increase in wisdom. Moreover, some colleagues will enter the field of religion as a second and third career. Age discrimination in hiring is a real problem even for a newly minted Ph.D. at forty.
