Abstract

A great deal of human activity, and in particular organizational activity, can be characterized as taking the form of projects. A project is an assembly of people and resources intended to achieve, by means of various activities, the attainment of a specific objective over a period of time. All but the simplest of projects involve appreciable numbers of activities, people, and resources. Therefore, projects require the organization and management of these activities, people and resources.
