The Scaling of Recombination Following Tunnel Ionisation and its Suitability for Generating X-Ray Laser Gain

Abstract

An investigation of the scaling of ATI ionisation and cascade recombination is used to identify possible conditions for generating population inversion and gain on the Lyman α transition of hydrogeic ions.
