FORMATION OF CARBON NANOSTRUCTURES DURING IR-PYROLYSIS OF POLYACRYLONITRILE IN PRESENCE OF Fe AND Co

  • Conference paper
Book cover Carbon Nanomaterials in Clean Energy Hydrogen Systems

Abstract

It is shown that IR-pyrolysis of compositions based on polyacrylonitrile and Co(C5H7O2)2, Fe(C5H5)2 results in formation of a metal-carbon nanocomposite in which nanosized particles of metal are dispersed finely in the structure of the carbon matrix. Carbonaceous phase of this composite is a carbon-carbon nanocomposite of a structure where carbon nanoparticles (carbon nanospheres, or nanoswirls) are embedded into the main graphite-like material
