There is no such thing as the method of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) research. This may be a surprising way to introduce a chapter of a handbook which is supposed to deal precisely with methodological refl ections on methods specific to technical and vocational education and training. In fact, of course, on the basis of the enormous breadth of the thematic fi eld, which can only be mastered in ↑ interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary (→ 5.1.4) fashion, TVET research necessarily participates in the whole methodological array of the social sciences.
