In the paper the results of soil pollution investigation in cities of Belarus are discussed. Detected levels of contamination by heavy metals, mineral oil, water soluble compounds and POPs (PAH and PCBs) are given. Main sources of soil pollution, peculiarities of pollutants distribution, and spatial structure of anomalies are shown.
