This chapter is divided in two parts. The first part looks at basic logico mathematical notions and theorems, which mark the cornerstones of the philosophical debate that is the subject of my essay. The second part examines a few typical examples of “equivalence” in physical systems and underdetermination of physical theories. These are the facts; they call for an interpretation.
