Der Satz „2×2 ist 5“ stellt, sagt man, etwas vor. Was stellt er vor? Hier kann man zweierlei sagen: 1) den Sachverhalt, der derselbe ist, wenn ich sage „5 = 2×2“, und der auch in der Vorstellung „das Gleichheitsverhältnis zwischen ,5‘ und ,2×2‘“ vorgestellt wird; 2) das Sein dieses Verhältnisses oder die Wahrheit, 2×2 sei 5. Hier ist Verschiedenes zu bedenken.
