Abstract
This chapter discusses approaches for monitoring perceptual responses to change and associated impacts on town character using the basic methodology developed for the research presented in Chapters 3 and 4. It also discusses future challenges that coastal towns will face, particularly with respect to climate change, and the need for these places to begin to adapt to these changes in ways that will be sensitive to the valued character that many of these special places possess.
