On the Way Towards a High Repetition Rate X-Ray Laser

  • Conference paper
X-Ray Lasers 2006

Summary

A way towards a high repetition rate X-ray laser (XRL) is proposed. The proposal consists of analysis of the existing pump schemes for collisional Xray lasers and their development prospects. Most of the attention is devoted to a new laser driver working at a repetition rate of 100 Hz, being developed now at the Max Born Institute. The most important output parameters expected to be available from this laser system are discussed in detail. It is expected that such a laser could increase the average brightness of XRLs by about two orders of magnitude.
