Abstract

As production goals continue to increase, it has become increasingly necessary to optimize key production factors that directly affect cell performance. Since media selection has a major impact on culture performance, a medium formulation optimized for a particular cell line can significantly increase protein production. The performance of the new medium can be further enhanced when coupled with an effective feed strategy applied under ideal process conditions. Optimized media and processes can be rapidly identified when comprehensive component screens are conducted using relevant statistical design.
