Abstract
The framing square, or the steel square as it is sometimes called, is a tool of many uses. It is used extensively by carpenters for rafter and stair layout as well as other structural layout. In fact it is difficult to imagine a building of any type being built without the use of the framing square. There are as well many uses for this valuable tool in other trades.
