The Sole Trader and the Partnership

  • Chapter
Book cover Basic Commerce for First Examinations

Abstract

Business undertakings fall into two distinct classes, those which are privately owned and those which are owned or controlled by the State or a local authority. The use of the word ‘public’ is sometimes confusing to the student as we refer to public companies (which are privately owned organisations), and public enterprises (which are State owned and/or controlled and financed by taxpayers’ money).
