Abstract

The Midlands county of Derbyshire is bounded on the north by West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, by the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester and by Cheshire in the west, and by Staffordshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire to the south and east. Only minor changes were made to the boundaries in the local government reorganisations of 1974.
