In the city the society’s large problems are revealed when economic development impacts unevenly on urban territories and their populations. Certain elected and administrative officials find that the presence of numerous migrants and minority members in a city makes problems more difficult to control and the task of social integration elusive. Conversely, others argue that the vitality and initiatives taken by such groups in the social and urban arena are trump cards for city development.
