Amir Khusro (ca. 1253–1325) is today known as the mystic poet-musician par excellence.1 He is also venerated as a saint, with the suffix Hazrat (Honorable) attached to his name His annual urs (death anniversary) is among the most popular of Sufi religious celebrations.
