Abstract
This chapter is concerned with the ways in which people make decisions in organisations. It is organised around a role play exercise, which is itself based on a set of real organisational problems. The exercise involves people taking on various roles in a small manufacturing company and holding a management meeting at which to plan and agree some actions for improvement. More detailed advice on how to set up the role play exercise is given in the Tutor’s Notes. The rest of this chapter is organised in three parts.
