Abstract

This chapter analyses the part played by institutional EU actors in the IEM and the CEP processes. The overall objective of this and the next chapter is to assess the importance of the role these institutions play in comparison with that played by the member states, as discussed in the previous chapter. We are concerned here with the relative importance of the various institutions within the EU. The assessment of the relative roles of member states versus EU institutions is presented in Chapter 7.
