Abstract
Historically, business interests have always dominated European-level interest representation, in part because of the history of the EU as an economic community. In a sample of business groups, over three-quarters had established themselves prior to the single-market initiative being conceived, while over half had established themselves in Brussels prior to the single-market project (Table 5.1).
