Abstract

When Prime Minister Musaddiq visited New York in October, he had a splendid opportunity to present his nation’s case to the world. He took center stage during the Security Council debate, winning the sympathy of third world diplomats and of many Americans watching on television. He administered a public rebuke to Britain’s struggling Labour government just prior to its electoral defeat in late October.
