Abstract

This unit will give you a chance to combine skills you’ve already acquired, such as understanding directions, enquiring about opening hours, making use of food vocabulary and placing an order. Although menus can look quite daunting at first sight, they can be broken down quite easily into basic categories such as Fleisch (meat), Fisch (fish), Gemüse (vegetables) and Suppen (soups). In some of the menus and advertisements you will also notice the continuing use of the old-fashioned Gothic script.
