Abstract

The doctrine that the counter-air campaign will always be the primary air campaign may seem difficult to accept. Some airmen continue to think of strategic bombing as the core capability of air power, while some other members of the profession of arms still believe that the prime purpose of air power is to support the surface forces.

The only security upon which sound military principles will rely is that you should be master of your own air.
