Abstract

This chapter reports the results of a recently completed research project on Japanese companies’ operations in the UK. The project focuses on Japanese companies’ management control systems, corporate strategies and performance measures for their operations in the United Kingdom. The extent to which these differ from those adopted by companies based wholly in the UK is an issue to explore, given the current interest in Japanese approaches to management.
