Abstract

In Chapter A1, policy analyses are graphically presented as a general case. Two important theorems are also proven in the respective twodimensional diagrams. The exact quantitative effects of any policy, however, have to rely on empirical studies. This chapter develops a number of policy models special for the Chinese grain sector. On the one hand, the models are constructed in such a way that empirical data can be used to test the theorem presented in the previous chapter. On the other, they will enable us to produce some useful policy simulation results concerning the most important agricultural policy instruments in China.
