The Social Work Task
This is the first of two chapters which address wider organisational aspects of social work stress. Chapter 6 explores those aspects that are largely related to the ways in which social work agencies are organised and managed — the factors that can be improved if the political will to bring about change exists or can be generated. The focus of this chapter, by contrast, is on those aspects of social work that cannot be changed — the factors that are intrinsic to the nature of the social work enterprise.
