Health education and health promotion in acute ward settings: nurses’ perceptions and practice

Abstract

This chapter describes one aspect of the results of a Department of Health funded research project examining nurses’ health education and health promotion practice in acute ward settings. The data presented focus on ward-based nurses’ interpretations of the concepts of health education and health promotion and their role in this, and the relationship between these perceptions and nurses’ health education and health promotion practice in these settings.
