Abstract

In recent years a number of internal conflicts have broken out in different parts of Soviet Central Asia, each with its own historical, socio-economic, religious and national origins. These conflicts have not only seriously destabilized the situation in the Central Asian region, they have also increased socio-political tension in the country as a whole.
