Abstract
In this chapter we outline the extent to which teenage sexual experience has become more common in industrialised countries. Rates remain extremely varied from one country to another. There are implications that in very recent years increases are levelling out. Not all sexual activity leads to pregnancy, not all pregnancies lead to births, and not all births occur within marriage. Variations in these processes among countries and over time are discussed.
