Abstract

Over the last few chapters I have been mainly concerned with the perplexed relation between writing and reality. It is time now to confront a question which has been present from the beginning and which I began to raise explicitly in the fourth chapter, in connection with Hopkins: the question of the self, of the ā€˜Iā€™.
