Quality Assurance in Housebuilding

  • Chapter
Quality Assurance in Building

Abstract

Housebuilding is unique in its level of commitment to formalised quality assurance. It is the only sector of UK building and construction industry that provides the purchaser with a legal guarantee of the building’s performance and standard of quality, backed by insurance against deficiency and failure. This capability is provided by the National House Building Council, (NHBC), ‘Buildmark’ warranty scheme.
