Abstract

The Annan Committee was disparaging about broadcasting advisory bodies, reporting that one member of such a body had described it as ‘middle-class, middle-aged and middle-brow’. Although the BBC has made strenuous efforts to alter the composition of a number of its advisory bodies, they remain stubbornly white collar.
