Abstract

West Irian was not the only territory to which Indonesia put forward a claim at this period. There were other territories emerging from colonial rule for which Sukarno made a similar bid. These were the territories of Sarawak, North Borneo, and Brunei: all in the northern part of Borneo, of which the rest belonged to Indonesia.
