Michael Jennings is a technical representative with Precision Engineering Co. Ltd. He is returning by car from a sales visit in the South of England and is travelling through a small town in the Midlands. Michael is thinking about the good order he has arranged during his visit and allows his concentration to lapse. John Evans steps on to a pedestrian crossing and Michael, failing to see the red light, is in collision with John. John sustains serious injuries and both an ambulance and the police are called.
