In the previous chapter we examined the theoretical background to the Fourier series representation of periodic waveforms, and the use of the Fourier Transform to examine data in the frequency domain. In this chapter we shall concentrate on the practical side of spectral analysis. As with almost all analysis techniques, there are a number of pitfalls awaiting the unwary which can lead to erroneous results.
