Abstract

The ousting of Amin’s regime in April 1979 by the combined Ugandan exile and Tanzanian forces was welcomed with tremendous relief and elation both within and outside Uganda. To most people, the removal of Amin held out hope for the future. The body faced with the reconstruction of the country was the Uganda National Liberation Front (UNLF).
