Abstract

The objectives of the organisation discussed in the preceding chapter provide an overall framework in which the formulation of a firm’s strategy can be developed. In this chapter we define corporate and business level strategy, discuss approaches to strategy-formulation, review the use of models and visual representations as an aid to formulation and consider horizontal strategy. We conclude by briefly considering the management of the formulation process.
