Abstract

The number of compounds containing nitrogen is vast, and there are more distinct nitrogen functional classes in organic chemistry than for any other heteroatom. The ability to observe nitrogen NMR directly is a rich prize for chemists and biochemists alike, but there are obstacles on the way.
