Reflections and Implications
In reviewing the empirical research reported in earlier chapters, we should stress that this book is not intended to be a research monograph, but rather a discussion and commentary, a contribution to the continuing debate about ethnicity and educational achievement in British schools. We hope that the findings obtained will fill some of the gaps in the Swann Report (HMSO, 1985).
