Abstract
I hoped that a return to work would see an end to my fears and anxieties about my mental health. I had an interesting job and helpful colleagues with whom I was able to share my feelings. On the day that I returned to work I felt excited, and confident that I would be able to forget the torment of the past few months. I spent the morning reading through the records to see which families needed an urgent visit, and in the afternoon I made a few calls, but at the end of the day my fears and anxieties still remained; they dominated my mind. My confidence was gone.
