Abstract
Before they left for the Far East, the Webbs had already decided to commit themselves to the Labour movement, which unlike the Liberal Party, had backed the Minority Report, and the Prevention of Destitution Campaign. The strategy of ‘permeating’ all the political parties had been finally abandoned. From 1912 onwards they were set on a new course of close involvement with Labour.
