Abstract

Engineering thermodynamics is concerned chiefly with the conversion of heat derived from combustion into work; it also embraces the use of heat from other sources; the transfer of heat by conduction, convection and radiation; and the ‘pumping’ of heat. There are many other physical and chemical aspects which are outside the scope of this book.
