The Tibia, Fibula and Knee Joint

Abstract

It is necessary to describe the tibia and fibula, especially their upper ends, in order to understand the structure and function of the knee joint. All the muscles which act at this joint have been described except three posterior muscles — the popliteus, gastrocnemius and plantaris.
