Abstract

The orbit contains the peripheral organ of vision, the eyeball, and its muscles, nerves and blood vessels. Anteriorly, various parts of the lacrimal apparatus lie within the orbit and eyelids which with the tears protect the front of the eyeball and keep its anterior surface moist.
