Abstract

In the chapter on the object of historical materialism, we indicated that a mode of production exists as a double combination of invariant elements, and that this combination determines which of the practices will be determinant in the last instance in the social formation, in which this mode is articulated. Consequently, the solution to the problem we posed in the last chapter would seem to be relatively simple.
