Abstract

This book examines the operation of the housing market and the role of government policy within it through the application of microeconomic methods of analysis. Although the theoretical apparatus it employs is perfectly general and can be found in most areas of applied economics, the housing market does have certain special features which condition the way in which the analysis is conducted. Accordingly, some preliminary discussion is devoted to them.
