Abstract

The role of community physicians is to seek out and give advice on the health care of the population they are appointed to serve. Although community physicians are doctors who specialise in preventive medicine, they rarely, if ever, see individual patients, but their influence in the community can be considerable. They tend to specialise in child health, social services and environmental health.
