Abstract
The years 1973 and 1974 will surely be remembered in the history of the Soviet Union and of her relations with the world at large. Especially from 1968 onwards, ever more insistent messages of dissent were reaching the outside world from within the USSR, and courageous men were challenging the repressive apparatus to make themselves heard.
