The Transducer and Transmitter
The transducer in a measurement system converts variations of the measured variable into an electrical signal. The transmitter then converts the signal into an electrical form suitable for transmission through the channel. Except when using electromagnetic waves (radio) as a channel, the transmitter is often an integral part of the transducer.
