Abstract

The Colorado Basin is exceptionally well suited to the study of the origin of topographic forms. It has already occasioned notable contributions to the principles of earth sculpture, and its resources are far from exhausted. The following account, based principally on research in the Henry Mountains, restates certain principles of erosion which have been derived from, or confirmed by, work in the Colorado Plateau country.
