Abstract

The Network Model was proposed by the Conference on Data System Languages (CODASYL) in 1971. A number of Codasyl based commercial DBMS became available in the 1970s, among them Cullinet’s IDMS, Univac’s DMS 1100 and Digital’s VAX DBMS.
